Nutrition as a tool

When I decided to study Nutrition Science in my bachelors, I was very open and flexible with where this would lead me. I thought that people always have to eat so I will always have something to do, following this education.

My own journey and personal experiences taught me that nutrition is a tool that fuels our amazing and capable bodies. During my Bachelor, I was fascinated by the connection between our brain and the gut. The fact, that every decision we make around food, is what our body uses as information and fuel gives me so much satisfaction to continue working on raising awareness for good quality choices in food.

I don’t believe in black and white, right or wrong thinking. I think nature didn’t want us to worry about calories, otherwise it would be visible on the produce. I trust in colourful, fresh, mainly unprocessed food and enjoyment.

I believe the western society and systems are very comfortable to live in and don’t require much reflection and thought. Almost everything is just available for consumption.

After studying, I knew that I don’t only want to work in Nutrition Counselling, but understand the food industry and gather knowledge on Marketing and Sales processes in the food sector. It striked me that the focus is rarely on health and most commonly on profit. Even in so called health oriented businesses.
